Collection: Debra Dartez

As an award winning plein air painter, I often hike to beautiful locations to create landscapes in oil.  I got my artistic start as a child who loved drawing, then I enjoyed painting as a teen. After attending graduate school for medical illustration, a field in which I worked for several years, I went on to become a landscape painter where I now continue my love of realism. The peace and tranquility that solitude in nature brings serve as my main inspiration for my slightly impressionistic landscapes. My paintings convey a sense of awe in the natural
surroundings.  My goal is for the viewer to take away a personal narrative from each scene based on their own relationship with nature. You’ll find me exploring nature, spending time with my three children, or participating in plein air events when I’m not painting outdoors.
