This painting started with my love of using colors besides blue for the sky and I wanted to experiment making the focal point a bright color contrasting with duller, darker colors. I did not start out with the intention of painting a barn. Instead, I just started painting and a barn emerged. The only thing I can think for where it came from is in the recesses of  memory as a child, even before I could read. I had a book of fairytales that I loved because of the stories and the large, glossy, colorful pictures.  I "read" it over and over, fascinated with the pictures. This painting could have jumped from the pages of that book. The power of intuitive painting is alive and well.
