Lea Doise is an artist from central Virginia. Being an artist and creating is one of her greatest joys and allows her to study the often overlooked aspects of the world around her, closely observing its patterns, textures, shapes, colors, and most importantly, all of the emotions that are evoked by these observations. Creating works helps her to better reconnect with her reflective, inner-self, that quiet voice which prompts her to ponder our place in an ever-changing universe that contains such beauty.
She learned to paint at an early age by painting alongside her grandmother. Lea has self guided her artist education by always seeking out more information about what inspires her and has attended numerous painting workshops, classes, and online tutorials along with constantly reading about art and past artists. She has a passion for plein air painting which also greatly influences her work.
